Brown and sticky...
Dan Brown's Digital Fortress was handed to me by one of the guys. He reckoned that as it's got computers in it, I might enjoy it.
Um, nope.
This is an unbelieveably piss poor book. The characters are too thin to exist in more than one dimension, the plot is completely ridiculous, full of holes and peppered with the author's childish sideswipes at the liberal left. I was left distraught at the loss of the 4 hours it took to read it.
If I was asked for a novel recommendation in the general Cryptography / Hacking / Tech genre I'd plump for the peerless Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson.

In the local bookshop, they have "bargain booked" Digital Fortress, so I had a quick glance at the cover bumf, and left it back quickly. Just screamed terrible book.

Hey there Paul, long time no talk!
You're right about the book, awful, awful, awful. I have no desire to go anywhere near any of his other stuff.
Liam was telling me that I've been using the wrong address when emailing you. I'll drop you a line using the right one..
